Greg Latta is an award winning multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter who
plays the hammered dulcimer, guitar, banjo, harmonica, recorder, and
Appalachian dulcimer. He is an award winning 5-string banjo player, a three
time Mid-Eastern hammered dulcimer champion (1994, 1992, and 1990), and two
time runner-up in the National hammered dulcimer championships held at
Winfield, Kansas, in both 1994 and 1992.
Greg performs an eclectic mix of Irish, folk, Broadway, bluegrass, and original music. His diverse performances venues have included the Hungarian Presidential Cabinet, US Olympic Trials, Rocky Gap Country Bluegrass Festival, Garrett Lakes Arts Festival, numerous schools, and a performance with the prestigious modern dance company Dance Alloy of Pittsburgh. Dr. Latta will offer a free concert at the Oakland armory as part of the Joy of Christ Celebration. The concert will likely include the hammered dulcimer, guitar, English concertina, bouzoukii, limberjack, and recorder. |
